We are excited to present Annelise Ellars from Switzerland who will preform this year's holiday concert.
Annelise Ellars is an Early Music Specialist, with a particular focus in voice and early harps. She studied for five years at the prestigious Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland
completing two Master’s degrees in vocal performance. She has had the distinction of appearing in various festivals across Europe, including the renowned Monteverdi Festival in Italy, the
celebrated Utrecht Festival Oude Muziek in the Netherlands, and the highly respected Festival Voix et Route Romane in France. She has appeared with the distinguished ReRenaissance
concert series, as well as with the ensembles Basler Madrigalisten, Contre le Temps, and her duo Syrens, in which she explores the expressive possibilities of self-accompaniment.
As a harpist, Annelise enjoys performing a wide range of repertoire including large orchestral works and musicals, but particularly enjoys the raw and percussive sounds of the gothic bray harps. As a singer, she is adept at interpreting widely varying styles from Machaut to Mozart, and finds particular pleasure in the interwoven textures of Renaissance polyphony.
Music events are held in the intimate, smoke-free environment of the Art Gallery. Fantastic acoustics draw musicians and listeners from throughout New England. All programs are free and open to the public. Doors open at 2:30. Light refreshments are available; coffee and refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library. Donations for PACH, our local food pantry, are welcome at all of our music events. Funded by the Friends of the Lawrence Library
