Creating Partridge Berry Bowls

Wednesday, November 136:30—7:30 PMMeeting RoomLawrence Library15 Main Street, Pepperell, MA, 01463

A berry bowl is a miniature woodland garden in a glass container, similar to a terrarium. Colonial women would gather woodland plants in late autumn and early winter, arrange them in moss, and place them in a glass vessel. The partridge berry is a key plant in this tradition.

As a child it was a family tradition to make these bowls and give them to family at Thanksgiving...often receiving back the empty bowl from the prior year for the next year. These miniature gardens in a bowl will keep through spring and can then be replanted in your yard.  Registration required, class size is limited to 8.

There are no longer enough available spaces for further registration for this event.
