Photography by Carol-Anne Taddeo

My appreciation of natural beauty began at an early age with walks in the woods with my mother. We would look for the tiny, the hidden, the surprising. As an amateur photographer and a geologist, my fascination with nature has continued to grow. I’ve had unique travel opportunities, and have recently begun exploring the country by RV. While the new and different on the road enter my photographs, I continue to enjoy the challenge to find unexpected beauty in my own backyard. When photographing people, I look for the personality within, and through setting, talking with the subject, and catching them in a moment unaware, I try to show their “natural” state. My goal as a photographer is to find beauty in the mundane, as well as to capture the breath-taking gifts that the earth and people can give. My hope is that if we can see beauty in more places, maybe we can see it more easily in each other.
